The Black Universe fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jim Branson during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Black Universe booed when Beverley Saints F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Branson didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gus Key fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Black Universe's protests and gave Gus Key a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Black Universe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gus Key to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Henry Malpeli from long distance, 17 minutes into the match, got Derek Atkinson's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 20th minute Lenny Halliday shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stuart Sawyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stuart Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Callum Swain in the 22nd minute of the match. Ritchie Gale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Derek Atkinson made a huge save. Derek Atkinson was a little too slow when Tommy Clarkson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 30th match minute, Beverley Saints F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Travis McGrath to maneuver through the defense. Stuart Sawyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Callum Swain in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute Tommy Clarkson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Derek Atkinson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Kris Cornforth put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Stuart Sawyer. Samuel Evans came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Derek Atkinson could save by the left post. The supporters of Beverley Saints F.C. booed when Black Universe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Lloyd didn't get a good kick on the ball. Derek Atkinson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Samuel Evans in the 49th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Clarkson to make the kick off. Samuel Lloyd's late challenge caught a Beverley Saints F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuel Lloyd helped the player get up and apologised. Samuel Lloyd kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Black Universe's zone, Tommy Clarkson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Derek Atkinson came out of the goal and Tommy Clarkson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Black Universe's Alexander Weeks got a free kick in the 60th minute. Derek Atkinson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Evans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tommy Clarkson might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Derek Atkinson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tommy Clarkson ran back to his position shaking his head. Beverley Saints F.C.'s Jim Branson got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Jim Branson off the ground. After a rather tough play, Beverley Saints F.C.'s Jim Branson got a free kick in the 69th minute. Lenny Halliday hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Callum Swain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stuart Sawyer having to interfere. Stuart Sawyer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kris Cornforth's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Stuart Sawyer was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lenny Halliday showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 80 minute of play. Samuel Evans scored 2-3 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Derek Atkinson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Stuart Sawyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Cornforth in the 95th minute of play. Stuart Sawyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Callum Swain, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Black Universe's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
