Spectators: 5954 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1854, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Barney Mason started the match with the kick off. Gavin Waltham took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Conal Lewington. Conal Lewington dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 6th minute, Barney Mason got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Brendon Lowndes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Drew Pointon. That made the score 1-1 in the 11 minute of play. If Gavin Waltham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barney Marlow hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in East Leakers's zone, Kenny Bayford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conal Lewington came out of the goal and Kenny Bayford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Drew Pointon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olly Morley in the 20th minute of play. Drew Pointon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Thompson in the 23rd minute. In the 27th minute, Kenny Bayford left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Brinklow United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 29th match minute, Brinklow United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Skinner to maneuver through the defense. Olly Morley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Drew Pointon having to interfere. With his leg Drew Pointon managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when East Leakers's Richard Thompson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Barney Marlow might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Drew Pointon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Barney Marlow ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 37th minute, East Leakers's Brendon Lowndes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Drew Pointon. Drew Pointon yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 40th minute, Richard Thompson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Brinklow United getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Kenny Bayford hit a great ball. Drew Pointon was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Olly Morley showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 42 minute of play. If Barney Mason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.

In the 55th minute Richard Thompson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drew Pointon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Brinklow United's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Thompson came free, but Drew Pointon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 60th minute Brendon Lowndes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drew Pointon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Gavin Waltham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brinklow United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave East Leakers the free kick. A collision led to Brinklow United getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Gavin Waltham hit a great ball. Richard Thompson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 75 minutes into the game, Barney Marlow cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Drew Pointon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 85 minutes into the match, Brinklow United's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Thompson came free, but Drew Pointon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 88 minutes of play, East Leakers's Richard Thompson made it 5-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Drew Pointon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Richard Thompson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. East Leakers fully deserved thier win.
