Noel Bullock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Crispin Gilchrist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Aaron Griffiths's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vincent Straker was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. If Crispin Gilchrist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Killer Giants FC booed when East Grinstead was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greg Nightingale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ritchie Knight-Percival fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vincent Straker having to interfere. After 54 minutes of play East Grinstead's Greg Nightingale was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 55th minute of the match Felix Pope sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vincent Straker skillfully saved the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Ritchie Knight-Percival notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of East Grinstead's Vincent Straker. East Grinstead's Vincent Straker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ritchie Knight-Percival in the 80th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ritchie Knight-Percival in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vincent Straker saved East Grinstead from getting behind. Vincent Straker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ritchie Knight-Percival in the 83rd minute of the match.
