Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian York in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Marcus Swift took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Conal Edwards. Conal Edwards dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. River Thames FC's Trev Cahill proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save River Thames FC from getting a goal against them. Zaq Biernat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trev Cahill having to interfere. In the 15th minute Albert Deacon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trev Cahill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Zaq Biernat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Trev Cahill was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. MK Dans's Conal Edwards played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian York in the 23rd minute of play. After some careless play in the MK Dans defense, Ian York kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Conal Edwards. The MK Dans fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Conal Edwards should have stopped the shot. Ian York fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Conal Edwards having to interfere. Ian York struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Conal Edwards didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Thames FC. Charles Baker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to River Thames FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Loyd Harrington hit a great ball. When Loyd Harrington fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Rex Way's late challenge caught a River Thames FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rex Way helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute, Rex Way hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conal Edwards showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian York, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Conal Edwards made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcus Swift in the 43rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 48 minutes, Ian York put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Conal Edwards. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

River Thames FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 97 played minutes MK Dans got a freekick which was hit by Rex Way. The MK Dans fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. River Thames FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
