Piers Bowe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 7th minute Dom Waple shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piers Bowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Dom Waple's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Piers Bowe was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Dom Waple put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Piers Bowe. In the 11th minute, Wes Swain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Piers Bowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dom Waple in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Cardiff City's goal looked a bit too open when Dom Waple came free, but Piers Bowe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liam Ackland to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ernesto dos Santos in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Piers Bowe saved Cardiff City from getting behind. Piers Bowe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wes Swain in the 78th minute. Kristian Carpenter's late challenge caught a Pocklington FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristian Carpenter helped the player get up and apologised. 80 minutes into the match, Dom Waple dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Piers Bowe, 0-14. Piers Bowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Piers Bowe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wes Swain went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-16 was the resulting score. Pocklington FC played a much better game than Cardiff City and deserved their victory. The Cardiff City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
