Bart Quantrill recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Stevie Bakewell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 6 minutes into the match, Malmesbury's goal looked a bit too open when Sid Renton came free, but Oliver Christensen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kimpton's goalkeeper Jeremy Pickard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stevie Bakewell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Christensen having to interfere. Oliver Christensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Quantrill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Stevie Bakewell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kimpton's supporters rose to their feet, but Stevie Bakewell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Christensen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th minute, Malmesbury's Norman Fry dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 30 minutes into the match, Malmesbury's goal looked a bit too open when Sid Renton came free, but Oliver Christensen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeremy Pickard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norman Fry in the 32nd minute of the match. Zane Helks hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Junior Rothwell's late challenge caught a Malmesbury's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Junior Rothwell helped the player get up and apologised. Junior Rothwell kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Norman Fry kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Kev Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Pickard having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bart Quantrill to strike the kick off in the second half. Kev Freeman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Malmesbury's zone, Stevie Bakewell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oliver Christensen came out of the goal and Stevie Bakewell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Oliver Christensen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stevie Bakewell in the 68th minute of play. Kev Freeman might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jeremy Pickard. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kev Freeman ran back to his position shaking his head. Kev Freeman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Pickard having to interfere. Norman Fry kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Stephen Stevens put in a rough tackle. After a rather tough play, Malmesbury's Stephen Stevens got a free kick in the 95th minute. Ashley Anderson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Malmesbury were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
