Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Norman Fry made the kick off and thus started the match. In the 8th minute Richard Varela shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliver Christensen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Göyüş Ziyadov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Royston FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Göyüş Ziyadov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oliver Christensen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oliver Christensen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göyüş Ziyadov in the 12th minute of play forced Malmesbury's goalkeeper Oliver Christensen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malmesbury's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kev Freeman in the 15th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Gwyn Bartlett heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Billy Gilmour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norman Fry in the 18th minute of play. Royston FC's Göyüş Ziyadov got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Malmesbury's Oliver Christensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Varela in the 23rd minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Royston FC's Richard Varela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oliver Christensen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The audience was convinced that Richard Varela's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliver Christensen was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Richard Varela received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Oliver Christensen came out and tried to block the shot, but Richard Varela slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 56th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Varela in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Oliver Christensen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 64 minutes into the match, Richard Varela had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oliver Christensen. Malmesbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richard Varela was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Göyüş Ziyadov who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Oliver Christensen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Billy Gilmour showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norman Fry, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Göyüş Ziyadov took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oliver Christensen. Oliver Christensen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Richard Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oliver Christensen having to interfere. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Malmesbury's goalkeeper Oliver Christensen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Richard Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Oliver Christensen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Richard Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Richard Varela kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Oliver Christensen. That made the score 1-6 in the 90 minute of play. Oliver Christensen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Varela in the 97th minute of play.
