In the 40th minute, Dylan Woodman made a precise shot to the right of Piers Bowe. Cardiff City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bart Quantrill stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Cardiff City getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Glen Huckerby hit a great ball. Giles Bowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Pickard having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Cardiff City got a freekick which was hit by Kristian Carpenter. In the 71st minute, Dylan Woodman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Piers Bowe was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. After a rather tough play, Cardiff City's Jeff Matthews got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute Stevie Bakewell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Piers Bowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristian Carpenter kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Piers Bowe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stevie Bakewell, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute.
