Piers Bowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göyüş Ziyadov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 4 minutes into the game, Royston FC's Richard Varela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Piers Bowe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Greg Devine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piers Bowe having to interfere. Piers Bowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Varela in the 10th minute of the match. Lewis Willmott scored 0-2 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Piers Bowe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Glen Huckerby kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 26th match minute, Royston FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Sledge to maneuver through the defense. Royston FC's Billy Gilmour proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Royston FC from getting a goal against them. Cardiff City's Piers Bowe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Varela in the 37th minute of play. Piers Bowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Göyüş Ziyadov in the 39th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greg Devine in the 47th minute of play forced Cardiff City's goalkeeper Piers Bowe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Cardiff City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Royston FC were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liam Ackland to make the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Greg Devine kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Piers Bowe. That made the score 0-3 in the 52 minute of play. Ted Grantham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Billy Gilmour having to make a save. With a little luck, Cardiff City's Piers Bowe got control of the ball when Göyüş Ziyadov tried to sneak it across the goal line. Greg Devine took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Piers Bowe. Piers Bowe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Göyüş Ziyadov came free with the goalkeeper in the 69th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Piers Bowe could save by the left post. Piers Bowe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Varela in the 70th minute. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Richard Varela took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Piers Bowe to make any attempt to save it. Göyüş Ziyadov's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Piers Bowe firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Göyüş Ziyadov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ashley Beckford's late challenge caught a Cardiff City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richard Varela scored 0-7 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Piers Bowe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Richard Varela could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Piers Bowe made a huge save. With a little luck, Cardiff City's Piers Bowe got control of the ball when Göyüş Ziyadov tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over Royston FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cardiff City throughout the match.
