Kimpton's Jeremy Pickard proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Kimpton from getting a goal against them. 52 minutes into the match, Kimpton's goal looked a bit too open when Huey Nicholls came free, but Jeremy Pickard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Craig Billington in the 53rd minute of play forced Kimpton's goalkeeper Jeremy Pickard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Alfred Beavan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeremy Pickard was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Craig Billington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremy Pickard having to interfere. United FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
