Cardiff City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mathias Terpstra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Husbands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After 43 minutes, Kristian Carpenter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cardiff City and the Husbands players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kristian Carpenter kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Husbands were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Liam Ackland was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Liam Ackland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erubiel Ignazio couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Husbands booed when Cardiff City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Matthews didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th minute, Mathias Terpstra reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Piers Bowe. The goal made the score 0-7. Liam Ackland scored 1-7 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Charles Hurst, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 75th match minute, Cardiff City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristian Carpenter to maneuver through the defense. Piers Bowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathias Terpstra in the 76th minute of play. After 81 minutes of play, Husbands's Ruben Folan made it 1-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Piers Bowe was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 85 played minutes Cardiff City got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Blowman. When Damian Meadowcroft came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Husbands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Meadowcroft couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Husbands's Damian Meadowcroft got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 94th minute, Husbands's Damian Meadowcroft ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Piers Bowe. Piers Bowe yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-9. Mathias Terpstra scored 1-10 in the 98th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Piers Bowe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded Husbands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cardiff City.
