After a defensive mix-up in Big B United's zone, Jeff Armitage stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andre Ellerton came out of the goal and Jeff Armitage tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andre Ellerton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Snowdon's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Brandon Connor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ron Sharpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Big B United's Ron Sharpe in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye The Hungry Toads's goalie prevented a goal. Martin Snowdon's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 10thth minute, Andre Ellerton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Zaq Vaughan's late challenge caught a The Hungry Toads's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zaq Vaughan helped the player get up and apologised. Zaq Vaughan hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. After 17 minutes of play, Big B United's Zaq Vaughan made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brandon Connor was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 22nd minute Rob Draper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brandon Connor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Nathan Partridge managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Hungry Toads's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathan Partridge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andre Ellerton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25thth minute of the game Martin Snowdon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Big B United's Andre Ellerton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Martin Snowdon in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Andre Ellerton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The Hungry Toads's Brandon Connor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ron Sharpe in the 27th minute of play. When Adrian Greenwood fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Big B United's protests and gave Adrian Greenwood a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th minute, Martin Snowdon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jeff Armitage had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th match minute, Big B United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zaq Vaughan to maneuver through the defense. Nathan Partridge charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nathan Partridge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 39th minute, Nathan Partridge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute, The Hungry Toads's Martin Snowdon dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. After having played for 44 minutes, Martin Snowdon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Hungry Toads's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Snowdon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Big B United's goalkeeper Andre Ellerton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Snowdon. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
