Barmby on the Marsh
Spectators: 5500 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rob Draper started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, one of Barmby on the Marsh:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a defensive mix-up in Barmby on the Marsh's zone, Ron Sharpe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mitch Worrall came out of the goal and Ron Sharpe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rob Draper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rob Draper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andre Ellerton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnathon Hallam in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute Johnathon Hallam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Ellerton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Big B United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zaq Vaughan to maneuver through the defense. If Johnnie Cartwright had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute Johnathon Hallam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andre Ellerton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Ron Sharpe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Big B United booed when Barmby on the Marsh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tod Niven didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Zaq Vaughan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Big B United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barmby on the Marsh the free kick. Barmby on the Marsh's Johnnie Cartwright got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Johnathon Hallam made a kick off. Johnathon Hallam kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Ron Sharpe could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Mitch Worrall however easily saved by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hayden Towler during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nick Featherstone walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Ron Sharpe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mitch Worrall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rob Draper in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Barmby on the Marsh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arman Linqvist to maneuver through the defense. Conal Hayes kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Tod Niven hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Nick Featherstone, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of Big B United booed when Barmby on the Marsh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conal Hayes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johnnie Cartwright fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andre Ellerton having to interfere. After 100 minutes, Tod Niven mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barmby on the Marsh and the Big B United players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Barmby on the Marsh getting a freekick after 100 minutes play. Tod Niven hit a great ball. The Barmby on the Marsh fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Big B United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
