Giles Gale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rob Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Real Brid's Giles Gale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rob Draper in the 15th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronnie Eastham during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ronnie Eastham kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Ron Sharpe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ron Sharpe got free with Giles Gale in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip Gettins in the 30th minute of play forced Big B United's goalkeeper Andre Ellerton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Andre Ellerton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phillip Gettins in the 31st minute of play. Giles Gale made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ron Sharpe in the 36th minute. Giles Gale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rob Draper, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Phillip Gettins made the kick off in the second half. Real Brid's Giles Gale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ron Sharpe in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rd minute Rob Draper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giles Gale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andre Ellerton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Phillip Gettins's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Real Brid's Giles Gale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zaq Vaughan in the 57th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip Gettins in the 59th minute of play forced Big B United's goalkeeper Andre Ellerton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Real Brid getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ronnie Eastham hit a great ball. Rob Draper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Giles Gale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Phillip Gettins came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Real Brid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phillip Gettins couldn't finish the play. Phillip Gettins recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Real Brid's Phillip Gettins got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matthew Renwick's late challenge caught a Big B United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthew Renwick helped the player get up and apologised. Matthew Renwick hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Giles Gale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rob Draper, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Big B United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
