The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jack Nicholson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ian Emander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blyth AFC's Jack Nicholson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ian Emander in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Anier Eneko cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Jack Nicholson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anier Eneko in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jack Nicholson saved Blyth AFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Erik Öberg in the 26th minute of play forced Blyth AFC's goalkeeper Jack Nicholson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Virgilio Valery hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgilio Valery got free with Pepe Le Petit in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
