Charles Beadle's late challenge caught a Carlisle United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 洪振义 in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ray Duggan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 洪振义 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Carlisle United booed when Skadoosh ! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Furniss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blair Broadhurst received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ray Duggan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ray Duggan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vilhelm Sellberg in the 93rd minute of play. Carlisle United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
