After 9 played minutes Purple Cobras got a freekick which was hit by Tod Fleetwood. 10 minutes into the match, Purple Cobras's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Kemp came free, but Benjamin Maylett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Purple Cobras's Benjamin Maylett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Perryman in the 12th minute of play. Cesar Cambranes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abraham Read in the 13th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Laurence Perryman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benjamin Maylett was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. If Abraham Read had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Purple Cobras getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Stu Hislop hit a great ball. Benjamin Maylett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laurence Perryman, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Abraham Read's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cesar Cambranes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Jerardo Maccioni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Cicloneta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Purple Cobras the free kick. After a rather tough play, La Cicloneta's Jerardo Maccioni got a free kick in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erwin Schrödinger to make the kick off. Benjamin Maylett made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Jerardo Maccioni sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Purple Cobras's Bruce Pickford got a free kick in the 70th minute. Erwin Schrödinger's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cesar Cambranes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 77th match minute, La Cicloneta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zane Woodyat to maneuver through the defense. Erwin Schrödinger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, La Cicloneta's Benjamin Maylett threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Laurence Perryman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laurence Perryman got free with Benjamin Maylett in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Purple Cobras's zone, Tom Kemp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benjamin Maylett came out of the goal and Tom Kemp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesar Cambranes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erwin Schrödinger in the 91st minute of play. Abraham Read received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Cesar Cambranes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
