Barr Point's Jude Bonham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jhonny Del Fierro in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Stickleback Utd Xl's goal looked a bit too open when Den Newland came free, but Martin Giöck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the game, Gary Pettifer recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jude Bonham. Gary Pettifer showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 27 minutes into the match, Barr Point's Den Newland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Giöck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 33 played minutes Barr Point got a freekick which was hit by Jamie Mayfield. Martin Giöck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamie Mayfield in the 35th minute of play. Den Newland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Giöck having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Stickleback Utd Xl made a substitution. Rich Thorn replaced Ash Mortimer. Stickleback Utd Xl's Ryan Skinner was substituted for Cliff Flower. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Den Newland was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jhonny Del Fierro in the 53rd minute of play forced Barr Point's goalkeeper Jude Bonham to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Giöck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jamie Mayfield in the 58th minute. After a rather tough play, Barr Point's Jamie Mayfield got a free kick in the 59th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Martin Giöck successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Stickleback Utd Xl booed when Barr Point was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Den Newland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barr Point's Jude Bonham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olly Paley in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Stickleback Utd Xl's Stephen Clapham got a free kick in the 85th minute. Den Newland hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Barr Point walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
