The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jonathan Stone took the kick off in the first half of the match. Conal Downton hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After 7 played minutes, Battersea's Marlon Hedley shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carlton Dunning came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Battersea reached it. Carlton Dunning didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Battersea's Matt Murtagh shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If Matt Murtagh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Junkyard Dogs getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jonathan Stone hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Junkyard Dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Matt Murtagh came free, but Carlton Dunning reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Junkyard Dogs's Carlton Dunning played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matt Murtagh in the 21st minute of play. Carlton Dunning made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mark Kendall in the 25th minute. After a rather tough play, Junkyard Dogs's Jonathan Stone got a free kick in the 26th minute. Carlton Dunning made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Mark Kendall sent off a good shot on target. Mark Kendall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Matt Murtagh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Carlton Dunning tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Junkyard Dogs getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Benji Crane hit a great ball. 48 minutes into the match, Junkyard Dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Marlon Hedley came free, but Carlton Dunning reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Matt Murtagh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Stone recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 57 minutes, Danny Moretti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Junkyard Dogs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danny Moretti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Danny Moretti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Stone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Battersea's Matt Murtagh got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Junkyard Dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Matt Murtagh came free, but Carlton Dunning reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Mark Kendall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matt Murtagh struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Carlton Dunning didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Battersea. Danny Moretti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Conan French tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 82nd minute by Danny Moretti got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Marlon Hedley shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Carlton Dunning made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matt Murtagh in the 86th minute of play. Danny Moretti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Junkyard Dogs booed when Battersea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Kendall didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlton Dunning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matt Murtagh in the 95th minute of the match. Battersea's Conan French proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Battersea from getting a goal against them. Carlton Dunning stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Matt Murtagh's shot from short distance in the 98th minute. The Battersea support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
