The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jason Seagrave in the 3rd minute of play forced Vicenza Wanderers's goalkeeper Marc Ploughman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marc Ploughman didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Hockley AFC's Jason Seagrave shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Marc Ploughman came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Hockley AFC's Trevor Lyons. But to his dismay, Trevor Lyons quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Joseph Hubbard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Marc Ploughman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 19 minutes into the game, Jason Seagrave cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Marc Ploughman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marc Ploughman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leo Bell went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. The supporters of Vicenza Wanderers booed when Hockley AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blair Hedges didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Jason Seagrave shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Ploughman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Ploughman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jason Seagrave in the 33rd minute of play. Marc Ploughman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Trevor Lyons, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Joseph Hubbard notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Vicenza Wanderers's Marc Ploughman. Marc Ploughman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute Jason Seagrave shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Ploughman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marc Ploughman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trevor Lyons in the 42nd minute of the match. Hockley AFC's Jeffrey Nevin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vince Riad in the 46th minute of play. In the 46th match minute, Hockley AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Watson to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Vince Riad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vicenza Wanderers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vince Riad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jason Seagrave to strike the kick off in the second half. Marc Ploughman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Hubbard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaac Mead got free with Marc Ploughman in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Vicenza Wanderers's Marc Ploughman got control of the ball when Trevor Lyons tried to sneak it across the goal line. James Drake charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed James Drake the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ralf Woodhead hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Marc Ploughman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jason Seagrave in the 60th minute of play. Marc Ploughman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lawrence Crayon went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Marc Ploughman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trevor Lyons, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 77 minutes into the game, Trevor Lyons recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marc Ploughman. Trevor Lyons showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-8. If Stew Argent had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Vicenza Wanderers's goalkeeper Marc Ploughman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leo Bell. After 85 played minutes Vicenza Wanderers got a freekick which was hit by Phillip Leeson. Leo Bell blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marc Ploughman having to make a save. When Hockley AFC's Joseph Hubbard in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vicenza Wanderers's goalie prevented a goal. Joseph Hubbard struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Marc Ploughman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hockley AFC. Stew Argent kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the match, Vicenza Wanderers's goal looked a bit too open when Jason Seagrave came free, but Marc Ploughman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jason Seagrave received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Marc Ploughman came out and tried to block the shot, but Jason Seagrave slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 93rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isaac Mead got free with Marc Ploughman in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Vicenza Wanderers fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Hockley AFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
