The audience thought a goal was coming when Turabi Altınpınar got free with Marc Ploughman in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11th minute, Ozzy Budden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Inocencio Eguerdi kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Luton Town's Tosh Fordham got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tosh Fordham in the 30th minute of play forced Vicenza Wanderers's goalkeeper Marc Ploughman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Turabi Altınpınar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Marc Ploughman made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Turabi Altınpınar got free with Marc Ploughman in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 35th minute, Luton Town's Turabi Altınpınar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Turabi Altınpınar's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Marc Ploughman skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Vicenza Wanderers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Naldo Bezerra was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. In the 91st minute Justs Braslavecs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marc Ploughman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Vicenza Wanderers defense, Naldo Bezerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marc Ploughman. The Vicenza Wanderers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marc Ploughman should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the Luton Town players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
