From a short distance, Hockley AFC's Leo Bell, in the 7th minute, tried to place the ball behind Patrick Colbert, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. Leo Bell received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Patrick Colbert came out and tried to block the shot, but Leo Bell slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. CHK Eagles's Edward Wood quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Oliver Watson, made in the 16th minute of the game. Matty Gold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Nevin having to interfere. With a little luck, CHK Eagles's Patrick Colbert got control of the ball when Trevor Lyons tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patrick Colbert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trevor Lyons in the 21st minute of the match. Edward Wood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Jeffrey Nevin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th minute Leo Bell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Colbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. CHK Eagles's Patrick Colbert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leo Bell in the 31st minute of play. Patrick Colbert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joseph Hubbard in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute Lawrence Crayon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Colbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Leo Bell's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrick Colbert was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Leo Bell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Patrick Colbert made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Trevor Lyons kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Patrick Colbert. That made the score 3-0 in the 43 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.
After 51 played minutes Hockley AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jason Seagrave. Blair Hedges charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Blair Hedges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jeffrey Nevin had in the 53rdth minute some difficulties stopping Matty Gold's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Edward Wood blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeffrey Nevin having to make a save. 3-1 became the score in the 66th minute when Matty Gold elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Patrick Colbert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Bell in the 73rd minute of the match. Patrick Colbert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Bell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 82 minutes into the match, CHK Eagles's Edward Wood sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeffrey Nevin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Jordan Gill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hockley AFC's Lawrence Crayon got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leo Bell in the 88th minute of play forced CHK Eagles's goalkeeper Patrick Colbert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Edward Wood made a precise shot to the right of Jeffrey Nevin. Hockley AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Patrick Colbert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Bell, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Hockley AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
