The Manchester City fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Manchester City's Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 13 minutes into the game, Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Guido Bartoli was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guido Bartoli was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki in the 21st minute of play forced Richings Park FC's goalkeeper Guido Bartoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Bartoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki in the 25th minute of play forced Richings Park FC's goalkeeper Guido Bartoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dan Saville scored 0-3 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guido Bartoli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Frank Pearce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Güralp Tanyıldız in the 33rd minute of the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, Richings Park FC's Ali Güralp Tanyıldız sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Pearce narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Guido Bartoli came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Manchester City's Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki. But to his dismay, Bartlomiej Niedzwiecki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Frank Pearce made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Dolfo Zuloaga sent off a good shot on target. Elliot Colvin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 45 minutes into the match. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Manchester City! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dan Saville stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dan Saville fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guido Bartoli having to interfere. After 55 played minutes Richings Park FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeff Sheehan. When Manchester City's Tommy Bedford in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Richings Park FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Richings Park FC's zone, Tommy Bedford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guido Bartoli came out of the goal and Tommy Bedford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geoffrey De Bougne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Manchester City's Geoffrey De Bougne broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Tommy Bedford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Bedford in the 75th minute of play forced Richings Park FC's goalkeeper Guido Bartoli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tommy Bedford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Guido Bartoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Richings Park FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Bedford came free, but Guido Bartoli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Leo Orain cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Frank Pearce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 89th minute Richings Park FC were awarded a corner. Trev Beckett went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Trev Beckett got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Frank Pearce quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 94thth minute of the game Tommy Bedford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Richings Park FC's Guido Bartoli was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
