An unexpectedly hard shot by Christopher Gray in the 6th minute of play forced SEA THE STARS's goalkeeper David Linford to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eddie Power sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tristram Fuller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marc Nelthorpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Linford having to interfere. Eddie Power charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eddie Power the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 13th match minute, SEA THE STARS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddie Power to maneuver through the defense. Kenny Dobson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for David Linford. SEA THE STARS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 16th minute, Tristram Fuller made a precise shot to the right of David Linford. SEA THE STARS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 21 minutes, Ken Bell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SEA THE STARS and the Hilsea players grew even worse after the yellow card. 25 minutes into the match, Hilsea's goalkeeper John England had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ken Bell. 29 minutes into the match, SEA THE STARS's goal looked a bit too open when Tristram Fuller came free, but David Linford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ken Bell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. John England tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. David Linford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rory Downham, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. David Linford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christopher Gray in the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd match minute, Hilsea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tristram Fuller to maneuver through the defense. Joseph Ansell kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. John England stood somewhat misplaced when Marlon Higginson came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 46 minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

John England stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marlon Higginson's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. David Linford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tristram Fuller, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. A collision led to Hilsea getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Joseph Ansell hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, SEA THE STARS's goalkeeper David Linford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rory Downham. SEA THE STARS's Eddie Power got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 minutes of play, Hilsea's Rory Downham made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Linford was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the game, Rory Downham cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. David Linford was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 86 minutes into the match, SEA THE STARS's goalkeeper David Linford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rory Downham. After a defensive mix-up in Hilsea's zone, Ken Bell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John England came out of the goal and Ken Bell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, SEA THE STARS's David Linford got control of the ball when Tristram Fuller tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Christopher Gray managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hilsea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christopher Gray was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th match minute, SEA THE STARS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodney Carsley to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute, Kenny Dobson sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and SEA THE STARS's David Linford didn't even have to move. Hilsea's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
