John England made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francis Curtis in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Niceto Ramirez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John England. Hilsea's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niceto Ramirez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After 9 played minutes Hilsea got a freekick which was hit by Joseph Ansell. Len Woolford, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 11th minute, Len Woolford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Niceto Ramirez put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of John England. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niceto Ramirez in the 18th minute of play forced Hilsea's goalkeeper John England to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Corinthians FC's Torstein Stenseth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Corinthians FC from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute Corinthians FC were awarded a corner. Len Woolford went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience was convinced that Francis Curtis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but John England was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Corinthians FC's Torstein Stenseth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tristram Fuller in the 30th minute of play. Stu Dunning charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stu Dunning the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Corinthians FC's Stu Dunning got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tristram Fuller in the 39th minute of play forced Corinthians FC's goalkeeper Torstein Stenseth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stu Dunning got his second yellow card in the match during the 40th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Corinthians FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hilsea:s goal. Corinthians FC:s Torstein Stenseth showed great skill when he stopped Kenny Dobson:s penalty. After 44th play minutes Francis Curtis shot 0-4, a short shot which went by John England and just under the crossbar into goal. John England showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Curtis, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francis Curtis was the one to do the kick off. John England took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francis Curtis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francis Curtis's late challenge caught a Hilsea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francis Curtis helped the player get up and apologised. Francis Curtis kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rory Downham in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torstein Stenseth saved Corinthians FC from getting behind. In the 66th minute Tristram Fuller shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Torstein Stenseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the game, Teodoro Hondaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corinthians FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hilsea the free kick. Teodoro Hondaro kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Corinthians FC's Francis Curtis got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 76 in the game by Francis Curtis from a close distance when the talented John England managed to make a qualified save. Hilsea's players were relieved. The crowd rose to their feet as Len Woolford kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving John England. That made the score 0-5 in the 77 minute of play. Tristram Fuller might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Torstein Stenseth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tristram Fuller ran back to his position shaking his head. Corinthians FC's Torstein Stenseth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tristram Fuller in the 82nd minute of play. After 83 minutes of play, Corinthians FC's Len Woolford made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John England was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Joseph Ansell fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hilsea's protests and gave Joseph Ansell a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Hilsea getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Joseph Ansell hit a great ball. After having played for 88 minutes, Len Woolford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Len Woolford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. John England made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Francis Curtis sent off a good shot on target. A nice corner shot did that Len Woolford got away a dangerous shot. Despite this John England quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A hard shot 95 in the game by Francis Curtis from a close distance when the talented John England managed to make a qualified save. Hilsea's players were relieved. The Corinthians FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Corinthians FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
