Alexander Longstaffe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tod McCartney went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 19 minutes, Tod McCartney made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Nottingham Forest's Alexander Longstaffe tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Nottingham Forest's goal looked a bit too open when Tod McCartney came free, but Alexander Longstaffe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Freddy Vine in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexander Longstaffe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Julian Trunks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th match minute, Nottingham Forest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylon Buckle to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Trunks to strike the kick off in the second half. When Tod McCartney came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Great Yarmouth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tod McCartney couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Great Yarmouth's Tod McCartney sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alexander Longstaffe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 57th minute of the match Nick Burns sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexander Longstaffe skillfully saved the ball. With 58 minutes on the clock, James Downes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 58 minutes into the game, one of Nottingham Forest:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Freddy Vines short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Alexander Longstaffe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The long shot by Nick Burns in the 69th minute really tested Alexander Longstaffe's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Tod McCartney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Alexander Longstaffe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nottingham Forest's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Damien Nicoll scored to the left of an out of position Alexander Longstaffe, making the score, 0-5. In the 80th minute, Great Yarmouth's Tod McCartney dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6. Alexander Longstaffe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tod McCartney in the 86th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Tod McCartney reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alexander Longstaffe. The goal made the score 0-7. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Freddy Vine got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Alexander Longstaffe came out of the goal in the 99th minute to try and stop a shot by Great Yarmouth's Tod McCartney. But to his dismay, Tod McCartney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Great Yarmouth's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
