In the 3rd minute, Severo Laurentzi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Polonia Basildon fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Severo Laurentzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Pali Zapala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Polonia Basildon fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Polonia Basildon's Severo Laurentzi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 21st minute Victor Mallon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayden Baker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jools Borrowdale charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jools Borrowdale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Rupert Longden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polonia Basildon's supporters rose to their feet, but Rupert Longden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pali Zapala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barca's Pali Zapala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Laurentzi in the 32nd minute of play. In the 34th minute Severo Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pali Zapala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, J.C. Smith notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Barca's Pali Zapala. Pali Zapala was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Barca's zone, Severo Laurentzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pali Zapala came out of the goal and Severo Laurentzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Laurentzi in the 41st minute of play forced Barca's goalkeeper Pali Zapala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Barca's Pali Zapala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severo Laurentzi in the 42nd minute of play. Frank Osbourne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Hayden Baker made a huge save.
Hayden Baker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Mallon, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 57 minutes into the match, Barca's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Laurentzi came free, but Pali Zapala reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Barca defense, Severo Laurentzi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pali Zapala. The Barca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pali Zapala should have stopped the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Barca's goalkeeper Pali Zapala had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severo Laurentzi. In the 68th minute, Polonia Basildon's Rupert Longden dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. In the 70th match minute, Barca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquiles Luar to maneuver through the defense. Severo Laurentzi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pali Zapala came out and tried to block the shot, but Severo Laurentzi slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Laurentzi in the 79th minute of play forced Barca's goalkeeper Pali Zapala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severo Laurentzi in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pali Zapala saved Barca from getting behind. Pali Zapala didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rupert Longden went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-8 was the resulting score. Polonia Basildon's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
