The audience thought a goal was coming when Cvetin Luković got free with Janes Van Huruck in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hythe Rangers United's goalkeeper Janes Van Huruck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ed Moore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tosh Higginson was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cvetin Luković in the 58th minute of play forced Hythe Rangers United's goalkeeper Janes Van Huruck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute Cvetin Luković shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janes Van Huruck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alonso Quesada was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 91 minutes into the match. Elizabeth Three Lions FC:s Jesus Satordi showed great skill when he stopped Ronny Sutherland:s penalty. In the 93rd minute, Ronny Sutherland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hythe Rangers United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The Hythe Rangers United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hythe Rangers United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
