Spectators: 9225 (Terracing: 6920, Seating: 2122, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Damian Stonehouse started the match with the kick off. After 2 played minutes Egg Chasers FC got a freekick which was hit by Matthew Brookman. Fabien Barthez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marty Simpson in the 3rd minute of the match. In the 4th match minute, Egg Chasers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Groom to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the match, Marty Simpson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fabien Barthez. Egg Chasers FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marty Simpson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. With an all-out effort, Egg Chasers FC's Ged Nightingale threw himself towards the right post 8 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Matthew Brookman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Arrows Academy FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Grzegorz Piechna in the 12th minute. Fabien Barthez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Stenkvist in the 17th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marty Simpson in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabien Barthez saved Egg Chasers FC from getting behind. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Marty Simpson sped through Egg Chasers FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fabien Barthez. 21 minutes into the match, Egg Chasers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Grzegorz Piechna came free, but Fabien Barthez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabien Barthez came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Arrows Academy FC's Grzegorz Piechna. But to his dismay, Grzegorz Piechna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Bryan Barron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marty Simpson in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabien Barthez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th match minute, Arrows Academy FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Stenkvist to maneuver through the defense. When Arrows Academy FC's Marty Simpson in the 29th minute got a chance for a shot 29th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Egg Chasers FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 42nd minute Damian Stonehouse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ged Nightingale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Connor Pringle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arrows Academy FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Egg Chasers FC the free kick. In the 44th minute, Connor Pringle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joel Groom charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Groom the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joel Groom hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marty Simpson was the one to do the kick off. Fabien Barthez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marty Simpson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marty Simpson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabien Barthez having to interfere. Bryan Barron could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Fabien Barthez made a huge save. Ged Nightingale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Crouch, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Matthew Brookman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Egg Chasers FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Arrows Academy FC's Grzegorz Piechna came free and shot a quick shot against goal 75 minutes in the game, fortunately Fabien Barthez had problems saving as it came toward the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Groom in the 77th minute of play forced Arrows Academy FC's goalkeeper Ged Nightingale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Barone struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Ged Nightingale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Egg Chasers FC. With his leg Fabien Barthez managed to avoid a goal in the 89thth minute, when Arrows Academy FC's Marty Simpson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fabien Barthez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grzegorz Piechna in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marty Simpson in the 91st minute of play forced Egg Chasers FC's goalkeeper Fabien Barthez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grzegorz Piechna who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Fabien Barthez when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
