The Elstree Town fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Elstree Town's Gareth Child looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Bortzaioriz Sancha came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Elstree Town fans jumped to their feet. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gareth Child in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck George Dudek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oakham's George Dudek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keiran Grantham in the 40th minute of play. Keiran Grantham took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 45th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for George Dudek. Oakham's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gareth Child sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gareth Child to strike the kick off in the second half. Oakham's supporters rose to their feet, but Tristram Barratt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peter Robson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 58 minutes, Gareth Child managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Elstree Town's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gareth Child was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Oakham's goal looked a bit too open when Keiran Grantham came free, but George Dudek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
