In the 4th minute, Julian Joachim left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oakham fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Camilo Ferrara struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. George Dudek didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coventry Wasps. Zhao Ran Ming showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthew Watkins in the 10th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Camilo Ferrara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coventry Wasps's supporters rose to their feet, but Camilo Ferrara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. George Dudek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 14 minutes into the game, Camilo Ferrara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Zhao Ran Ming showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Joachim, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Coventry Wasps's Zhao Ran Ming proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Coventry Wasps from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the match, Coventry Wasps's Camilo Ferrara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that George Dudek narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the game, Oakham's Julian Joachim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Oakham's Archie Chambers was substituted for Leo Blewett. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matthew Watkins made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthew Watkins in the 52nd minute of play forced Coventry Wasps's goalkeeper Zhao Ran Ming to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd minute Julian Joachim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhao Ran Ming saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Tristram Barratt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oakham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coventry Wasps the free kick. Raf Vermaelen charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Raf Vermaelen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Raf Vermaelen kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Zhao Ran Ming took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cody Steel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Oakham fans cheered their team off the field, for while Coventry Wasps had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
