The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Paijo Prima cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lucas Young was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Liam Sheridan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucas Young read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Clapham Comets F.C.'s zone, Harry Colman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lee Kerr came out of the goal and Harry Colman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th match minute, The Youth Project was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Colman to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liam Sheridan in the 20th minute of play forced The Youth Project's goalkeeper Lucas Young to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fitz Hubbard kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. A collision led to Clapham Comets F.C. getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Fitz Hubbard hit a great ball. Lee Kerr took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfie Chivers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brendon Bale hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Lucas Young showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brendon Bale, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goalkeeper Lee Kerr had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martyn Featherstone. Lucas Young showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cumhur Tanacan, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in The Youth Project's zone, Paijo Prima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Young came out of the goal and Paijo Prima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martyn Featherstone to make the kick off. The Youth Project's Lucas Young played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liam Sheridan in the 51st minute of play. Lee Kerr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martyn Featherstone, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Paijo Prima might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lucas Young. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paijo Prima ran back to his position shaking his head. After 66 played minutes Clapham Comets F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gwidon Dudek. The Youth Project's Lucas Young played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gwidon Dudek in the 69th minute of play. 70 minutes into the game, Liam Sheridan threw the ball into play from the sideline. The Youth Project's Kristopher Sykes quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 75th minute of the match Clapham Comets F.C. got a corner. The Youth Project's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cumhur Tanacan ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Clapham Comets F.C.'s Cumhur Tanacan to fire away a dangerous shot which Lucas Young despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Rowan Jepson came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the The Youth Project fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rowan Jepson couldn't finish the play. 83 minutes into the match, The Youth Project's Kieran Tully sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lee Kerr narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cumhur Tanacan in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucas Young saved The Youth Project from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Colin Tindale in the 87th minute of play forced The Youth Project's goalkeeper Lucas Young to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paijo Prima in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucas Young prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
