The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee showed Baheyyi Yenicheri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Baheyyi Yenicheri hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Tayeb Rebbab received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Aflawas Mezghich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jawed Tlemcani in the 29th minute of play forced Spalding's goalkeeper Djamal Amrouni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Spalding's Hamid Bouazza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aflawas Mezghich made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Aflawas Mezghich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tayeb Rebbab, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. After 35 minutes, Lili Messali mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Windlesham and the Spalding players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 35 played minutes Windlesham got a freekick which was hit by Lili Messali. In the 36th minute, Tayeb Rebbab hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tayeb Rebbab to make the kick off. A collision led to Spalding getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Malek Derrida hit a great ball. Hamid Bouazza in the 69thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Aflawas Mezghich, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Affi Kader sped through Spalding's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Djamal Amrouni. In the 79th minute Tayeb Rebbab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aflawas Mezghich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Malek Derrida hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Hamid Bouazza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aflawas Mezghich was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Tayeb Rebbab capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tayeb Rebbab really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. 94 minutes into the match, Jawed Tlemcani had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Djamal Amrouni. Spalding's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jawed Tlemcani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
