The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abdelhak Riyah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. After a defensive mix-up in West Kirby United's zone, Mouloud Abdiche stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hafid Hemdani came out of the goal and Mouloud Abdiche tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mouloud Abdiche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 13 minutes, Abdelhak Riyah managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Kirby United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abdelhak Riyah was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Abdelhak Riyah came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the West Kirby United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abdelhak Riyah couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Abdelhak Riyah put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Akar Chaib. Mouloud Abdiche's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 34thth minute, Hafid Hemdani skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nazim Lacen's late challenge caught a Dalton In Furness's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nazim Lacen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, West Kirby United's Nazim Lacen got a free kick in the 35th minute. Mouloud Abdiche hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute, Mouloud Abdiche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mouloud Abdiche struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Hafid Hemdani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dalton In Furness. 44 minutes into the game, Amhaws Zerouali recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hafid Hemdani. Amhaws Zerouali showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abdelhak Riyah was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chadli Djaghloul in the 51st minute of play forced West Kirby United's goalkeeper Hafid Hemdani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Abdelhak Riyah came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the West Kirby United fans jumped to their feet. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dalton In Furness's goalkeeper Akar Chaib, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Akar Chaib made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Yazid Morceli sent off a good shot on target. Mouloud Abdiche recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yazid Morceli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Akar Chaib tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abdelhak Riyah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Akar Chaib having to interfere. After 74 minutes of play, West Kirby United's Yazid Morceli made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Akar Chaib was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th minute, Amine Reddad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79thth minute of the game Abdelhak Riyah who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dalton In Furness's Akar Chaib was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mohamed Saâdallah kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Akar Chaib showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdelhak Riyah, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdelhak Riyah in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Akar Chaib saved Dalton In Furness from getting behind. The West Kirby United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing West Kirby United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
