The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 11 minutes into the match, Guernsey's goal looked a bit too open when Bassim Zouba came free, but Hamid Drari reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guernsey's goalkeeper Hamid Drari, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bassim Zouba in the 20th minute of play forced Guernsey's goalkeeper Hamid Drari to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Billericay United's Bassim Zouba got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute Slimane Cohen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaber Banou Attyya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Billericay United's Jaber Banou Attyya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Slimane Cohen in the 40th minute of play. Mokhtar Arouaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaber Banou Attyya having to interfere. If Mokhtar Arouaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bassim Zouba was the one to do the kick off. 58 minutes into the match, Billericay United's goal looked a bit too open when Mokhtar Arouaba came free, but Jaber Banou Attyya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bassim Zouba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jaber Banou Attyya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slimane Cohen in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bassim Zouba in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamid Drari prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Rahal Nasri got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Slimane Cohen in the 84th minute of play forced Billericay United's goalkeeper Jaber Banou Attyya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th minute Slimane Cohen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaber Banou Attyya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Rahal Nasri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Billericay United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rahal Nasri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th match minute, Guernsey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hani Abdelmoumene to maneuver through the defense. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
