The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Omar Yachir's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mebarek Oulhaci read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Middlesbrough's goal looked a bit too open when Sabri El Ounès came free, but Alsan Bencherif reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Cove's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Yachir came free, but Mebarek Oulhaci reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bekathen Souakri struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Alsan Bencherif didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cove. If Lazhar Riyah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alsan Bencherif took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bekathen Souakri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Cove's Sabri El Ounès got a free kick in the 34th minute. Middlesbrough's Omar Yachir got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After 51 played minutes Cove got a freekick which was hit by Kendi Messaoudi. Lazhar Riyah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Mebarek Oulhaci tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barsa Malek charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Barsa Malek the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 64 played minutes Middlesbrough got a freekick which was hit by Barsa Malek. Alsan Bencherif showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabri El Ounès in the 71st minute of the match. 72 minutes into the game, Lazhar Riyah cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Mebarek Oulhaci was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Lazhar Riyah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lazhar Riyah in the 90th minute of play forced Cove's goalkeeper Mebarek Oulhaci to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 92 minutes, Bekathen Souakri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cove's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bekathen Souakri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lazhar Riyah struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Mebarek Oulhaci didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Middlesbrough. In the 96th minute Omar Yachir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mebarek Oulhaci saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Middlesbrough were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cove for a fine match.
