In the 6th minute, Fouad Mecherara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Said Bougherra came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Hull AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Said Bougherra couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Yunes Nasri during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hull AFC's Tijani Abdenouz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Hull AFC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Hull AFC's zone, Afalawas Bentifour stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tijani Abdenouz came out of the goal and Afalawas Bentifour tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Said Bougherra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hull AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Said Bougherra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fouad Ayachi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afalawas Bentifour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Tijani Abdenouz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Billel Izghen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tijani Abdenouz. Billel Izghen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 36th minute, Billel Izghen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 37 played minutes Hull AFC got a freekick which was hit by Aberkane Reddad. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Said Bougherra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Yunes Nasri managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hull AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yunes Nasri was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Billel Izghen in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tijani Abdenouz saved Hull AFC from getting behind. In the 65th minute, Noureddine Baïri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amine Zemmouri kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Hull AFC's Tijani Abdenouz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billel Izghen in the 76th minute of play. Tijani Abdenouz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billel Izghen in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Said Bougherra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fouad Ayachi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute Afalawas Bentifour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tijani Abdenouz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hull AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
