The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mustapha Oussalah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Amir Mohamed showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reda El Hadi, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 16 minutes into the game, Nunthorpe's Daniel Zaaf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After 22 played minutes, Swanmore's Mansour Belloumi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mohammed Bouzid came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Swanmore reached it. After 22 minutes of play Nunthorpe's Redouane Djoudi was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 23 played minutes Nunthorpe got a freekick which was hit by Redouane Djoudi. Mustapha Oussalah received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Daniel Zaaf fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The Nunthorpe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mohammed Bouzid should have stopped the shot. 85 minutes into the match, Swanmore's goalkeeper Amir Mohamed had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reda El Hadi. After having played for 93 minutes, Hicham Saïdi-Sief managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Swanmore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hicham Saïdi-Sief was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Swanmore had won after a very even match.
