The audience was convinced that Faouzi Larbes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mahmoud Mimoun was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. A collision led to Barnham getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Faouzi Larbes hit a great ball. Barnham's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adid Djenia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adid Djenia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Mahmoud Mimoun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adid Djenia struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Mahmoud Mimoun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barnham. The supporters of Stockport City booed when Barnham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamid Damardji didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Anwa Mzali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute Faouzi Larbes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mahmoud Mimoun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mahmoud Mimoun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Faouzi Larbes in the 47th minute of the match. Adid Djenia scored 0-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mahmoud Mimoun, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Abdeldjalil Merah made the kick off in the second half. Abdeldjalil Merah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boubekeur Dhahhak having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Bayna Rodesli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Stockport City's Mahmoud Mimoun got control of the ball when Adid Djenia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mahmoud Mimoun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faouzi Larbes, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faouzi Larbes in the 72nd minute of play forced Stockport City's goalkeeper Mahmoud Mimoun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 75 played minutes Stockport City got a freekick which was hit by Adam Heddou. 77 minutes into the match, Stockport City's Abdeldjalil Merah sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Boubekeur Dhahhak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Bayna Rodesli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mahmoud Mimoun was a little too slow when Faouzi Larbes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 87th minute, Abdelhadi Kelkal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute, Bayna Rodesli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Boubekeur Dhahhak was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 95th minute Bayna Rodesli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boubekeur Dhahhak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boubekeur Dhahhak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdeldjalil Merah in the 98th minute of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
