Southall FC's Liamine Hanister got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half Orpington City were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 52 minutes, Fouad Amara mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orpington City and the Southall FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
