Ely's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sid Ali Belhadj was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aras Fadhil kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Muhammad Zarabi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kylian Nima having to interfere. Abdenour Oudjani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Kylian Nima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ammar Kosbi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ammar Kosbi in the 28th minute of play forced Brierley Hill's goalkeeper Salim Sahnouni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sid Ali Belhadj fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salim Sahnouni having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, Abdelhakim Salhi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brierley Hill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ely the free kick. The supporters of Ely booed when Brierley Hill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdelhakim Salhi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Muhammad Zarabi was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 36th minute. Brierley Hill's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 38th minute, one of Brierley Hill:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Brierley Hill. The supporters of Brierley Hill booed when Ely was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Slimane Merniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ammar Kosbi made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Sid Ali Belhadj notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Brierley Hill's Salim Sahnouni. Salim Sahnouni was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Muhammad Zarabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. Salim Sahnouni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ammar Kosbi, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute.
