The referee showed Fayçal Belmadi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 6 played minutes Otterham got a freekick which was hit by Fayçal Belmadi. After a defensive mix-up in Otterham's zone, Ishak Benboudaoud stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boualem Oussar came out of the goal and Ishak Benboudaoud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Otterham's Boualem Oussar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Otterham from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Otterham getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ammar Benikhlef hit a great ball. Ishak Benboudaoud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boualem Oussar having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Barnard Castle's Allaoua Nasri got a free kick in the 19th minute. Abdelaziz Cerbah kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Slimane Rezzag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Barnard Castle's zone, Riad Medjani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ammar Chaib came out of the goal and Riad Medjani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Slimane Rezzag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ammar Chaib showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Slimane Rezzag, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Barnard Castle's Ishak Benboudaoud got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Fayçal Belmadi was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 37 minutes had been played. Ammar Benikhlef kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Haggi Boulebda came free with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Boualem Oussar could save by the left post. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Riad Medjani made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Barnard Castle's Ishak Benboudaoud sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Boualem Oussar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Riad Medjani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ammar Chaib having to interfere. Ammar Chaib made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Riad Medjani sent off a good shot on target. When Ishak Benboudaoud came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Barnard Castle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ishak Benboudaoud couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute, Nacim Achoui hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haggi Boulebda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Boualem Oussar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 69 minutes into the game, when Nacim Achoui put in a rough tackle. Billel Ben Bella walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ishak Benboudaoud in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Boualem Oussar saved Otterham from getting behind. 84 minutes into the match, Barnard Castle's Haggi Boulebda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Boualem Oussar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Boualem Oussar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ishak Benboudaoud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ishak Benboudaoud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
