After a rather tough play, Barnsley's Lout Mazouna got a free kick in the 25th minute. The supporters of Huyton booed when Barnsley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lout Mazouna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Akim Laura Douibi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Smail Megharia struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Badreddine Djenia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barnsley. After a rather tough play, Huyton's Chahid Akrour got a free kick in the 38th minute. Badreddine Djenia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdelhakim Mami's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Lout Mazouna's late challenge caught a Huyton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lout Mazouna helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Barnsley getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Lout Mazouna hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Ammuch Diss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

If Amellal Cherrad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 53 minutes, Akim Laura Douibi put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Cheikh El Amri. After having played for 56 minutes, Abdelhakim Mami managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barnsley's goalkeeper Cheikh El Amri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Huyton's goal looked a bit too open when Abdelhakim Mami came free, but Badreddine Djenia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 79th match minute, Huyton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camel Zerara to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Huyton's zone, Smail Megharia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Badreddine Djenia came out of the goal and Smail Megharia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Huyton's Badreddine Djenia got control of the ball when Smail Megharia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abdelnasser Khodri hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute of the match Bachir El Ouazzani sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cheikh El Amri skillfully saved the ball. If Akim Laura Douibi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 93 played minutes Barnsley got a freekick which was hit by Lout Mazouna. In the 95th match minute, Huyton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mustapha Djamel to maneuver through the defense. Barnsley's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
