The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Abdellah Dahou was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafik Saâdane showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Idir Benyamina in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafik Saâdane saved Telford from getting behind. Akatelaji Zaaf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Rafik Saâdane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Telford's Brahim Larfaoui sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Malik Mecherara narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brahim Larfaoui in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Malik Mecherara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brahim Larfaoui in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Malik Mecherara saved Halifax AFC from getting behind. Zouhir Ouar charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zouhir Ouar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Telford booed when Halifax AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zouhir Ouar didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Malik Mecherara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Houari Metaref in the 74th minute.
