Sandy's Karim El Moubarek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Sandy from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Tarik Assad managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formby's supporters rose to their feet, but Tarik Assad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karim El Moubarek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abdelaziz Akrour was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 31stth minute of the game Tarik Assad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sandy's Karim El Moubarek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hachemi Morceli got free with Karim El Moubarek in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Kader Kazi-Tani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandy's supporters rose to their feet, but Kader Kazi-Tani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdelaziz Akrour breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kader Kazi-Tani to strike the kick off in the second half. Safi Amara hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sandy's Hakim El Hadi got a free kick in the 64th minute. If Hachemi Morceli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karim El Moubarek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hachemi Morceli, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute, Rabah Drid ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Abdelaziz Akrour was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hachemi Morceli during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sandy booed when Formby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hachemi Morceli didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Tarik Assad got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Tarik Assad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karim El Moubarek was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. If Tarik Assad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hachemi Morceli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karim El Moubarek having to interfere. Tarik Assad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Sandy supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sandy would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
