The audience was convinced that Ismet El Ouafi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Billel Bouzina was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. Abdul Kheyari made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Abdelmoumène Damardji sent off a good shot on target. 9 minutes into the game, Fathi Khennane recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Abdul Kheyari. Fathi Khennane showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. If Ismet El Ouafi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moïse Ziani kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Ismet El Ouafi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Scofton's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismet El Ouafi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Billel Bouzina breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 27 played minutes Scofton got a freekick which was hit by Ahmis Saïd-Guerni. Abdelmoumène Damardji sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abdul Kheyari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fathi Khennane, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdellatif Bouteflika took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Billel Bouzina. Billel Bouzina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Billel Bouzina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abdellatif Bouteflika in the 37th minute of the match. Radcliffe-on-Trent's Billel Bouzina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismet El Ouafi in the 38th minute of play. If Ismet El Ouafi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Scofton's zone, Abdelmadjid Macias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdul Kheyari came out of the goal and Abdelmadjid Macias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fathi Khennane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Radcliffe-on-Trent's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jussef Rodesli in the 49th minute. The corner led Radcliffe-on-Trent's Jussef Rodesli to fire away a dangerous shot which Abdul Kheyari despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Radcliffe-on-Trent's Abdelmoumène Damardji in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scofton's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 57 minutes, Ismet El Ouafi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Scofton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ismet El Ouafi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abdellatif Bouteflika could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Billel Bouzina made a huge save. Abdul Kheyari stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdelmoumène Damardji's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. When Zoubir Bachdjerrah fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Scofton's protests and gave Zoubir Bachdjerrah a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes Scofton got a freekick which was hit by Zoubir Bachdjerrah. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Scofton's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Jussef Rodesli was slow to take the kick. During this time Radcliffe-on-Trent's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Jussef Rodesli almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Scofton's Abdul Kheyari did a great save. Radcliffe-on-Trent's Billel Bouzina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismet El Ouafi in the 78th minute of play. The supporters of Scofton booed when Radcliffe-on-Trent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lounès Brahimi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Billel Bouzina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ismet El Ouafi's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Ismet El Ouafi might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Billel Bouzina. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ismet El Ouafi ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 89th minute Fathi Khennane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdul Kheyari saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th match minute, Radcliffe-on-Trent was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lounès Brahimi to maneuver through the defense. Scofton's Ahmis Saïd-Guerni shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 96th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Billel Bouzina but with some difficulty. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
