In the 19th minute, Idras Hamdoud got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hocine El Ouafi's late challenge caught a Redruth's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hocine El Ouafi helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 21st minute of the game. One of Thanet:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Redruth:s goal. If Rabah Hamrouche had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cheikh Drari hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Idras Hamdoud's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kacem Hemdani read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Thanet's supporters rose to their feet, but Rabah Hamrouche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Redruth walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
