Yamine Amrouni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Slimane Makkeb came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Islington fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Slimane Makkeb couldn't finish the play. Yamine Amrouni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chedli Hammadouch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Godalming getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Fodil El Hadi hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Godalming's Yassine Mammech got a free kick in the 18th minute. Yamine Amrouni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chedli Hammadouch, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Mehdi Hadjadj showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adza Mezali in the 31st minute of the match. The supporters of Godalming booed when Islington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hichem Derrida didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Chedli Hammadouch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adza Mezali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehdi Hadjadj having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Slimane Makkeb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After having played for 55 minutes, Yassine Mammech managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Godalming's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yassine Mammech was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 57th minute of the match Abdelhamid Zaghloul sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mehdi Hadjadj skillfully saved the ball. After 58 played minutes Islington got a freekick which was hit by Wassim Aflelou. Yassine Mammech struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Mehdi Hadjadj didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Godalming. In the 60th minute Adza Mezali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehdi Hadjadj saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Slimane Makkeb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yamine Amrouni having to interfere. Lunis Bouchemla's late challenge caught a Islington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lunis Bouchemla helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Islington booed when Godalming was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yassine Mammech in the 69th minute of play forced Islington's goalkeeper Mehdi Hadjadj to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Islington's zone, Yassine Mammech stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehdi Hadjadj came out of the goal and Yassine Mammech tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, Islington's goal looked a bit too open when Adza Mezali came free, but Mehdi Hadjadj reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 90 minutes, Yassine Mammech made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Islington's Mehdi Hadjadj tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
