After a rather tough play, Shaftesbury's Belkacem Yahia got a free kick in the 11th minute. Riad Abid who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Hacène Debbagh when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ilian Hammadouch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Azzedine Ouar scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Malek Cherrad, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Riad Abid fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hacène Debbagh having to interfere. The Shaftesbury fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Shaftesbury's Azzedine Ouar looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Malek Cherrad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Azzedine Ouar in the 32nd minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ilian Hammadouch stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 77th minute, Hartlepool's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Azzedine Ouar fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The Hartlepool fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when Hartlepool's Riad Abid looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Hacène Debbagh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adal Ben Arfa in the 99th minute of play. Shaftesbury played a much better game than Hartlepool and deserved their victory. The Hartlepool players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
