Sammy Nasri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benamar Oussar in the 27th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Alston United's zone, Omar Morceli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sammy Nasri came out of the goal and Omar Morceli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Shepshed booed when Alston United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 55thth minute of the game Idir Ali who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Shepshed's Kamil Sermadji was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Idir Ali in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kamil Sermadji prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th minute, Omar Morceli fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sammy Nasri, passed just outside the right post. Idir Ali scored 1-1 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kamil Sermadji, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 74th minute Wassim Achoui shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kamil Sermadji saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Omar Morceli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Alston United's goal looked a bit too open when Benamar Oussar came free, but Sammy Nasri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shepshed's Omar Morceli got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alston United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Shepshed for a fine match.
